Plumbing FAQs

Please reach us at clogbegone@outlook.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes. Drain and sewer problems can happen at any time, and Myre’s Drains and Excavating offers 24/7 service when you need help quickly.

Drain cleaning is used to clear clogs, remove buildup, and help restore proper flow through a drain or sewer line. It can also be used as preventative maintenance to reduce the chance of unexpected backups.

Drain line locating uses specialized equipment to help identify the path, position, and depth of underground drain or sewer lines. This helps locate broken lines, tie-ins, blockages, and other problem areas before digging or repair work begins.

A smoke test uses non-toxic smoke to help locate sewer odors, leaks, venting issues, or openings in a drainage system. If smoke appears inside or around the property, it helps show where sewer gas or odor may be escaping.

Hydro jetting uses high-pressure water to clean the inside of drain and sewer lines. It can help remove grease, sludge, roots, sand, and other buildup that regular snaking may not fully clear.

Cable or snaking is a drain cleaning method that uses a flexible rotating cable to break through or remove clogs inside a drain line. It is commonly used for slow drains, backed-up lines, and blockages caused by debris, grease, hair, or roots.

Video inspection uses a waterproof camera to view the inside of a drain or sewer line. This helps identify problems such as blockages, cracks, root intrusion, offsets, corrosion, or collapsed sections.

Trenchless repair is a no-dig or low-dig method used to repair or replace damaged underground pipes with less disruption to yards, driveways, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Pipe patching is a trenchless repair method used to seal a damaged section of pipe from the inside. It is often used for localized cracks, holes, separated joints, or root intrusion points.

Sewer line excavation is the process of digging to expose a damaged or failed underground pipe. It may be needed when a line is collapsed, severely damaged, improperly pitched, or cannot be repaired with a trenchless method.

Sewer odors can come from dry traps, cracked pipes, broken seals, venting problems, hidden leaks, or openings in the sewer system. A smoke test or video inspection can help identify the source.

You should call for service if you notice slow drains, gurgling, repeated clogs, sewage odors, water backing up, standing water, or wet areas in the yard. These can be signs of a larger drainage or sewer issue.
